Microsoft Word – Word Count

Getting a word count for your MS Word document is easy.

1. Go to the Tools menu and select Word Count.

2. You will get the word count of your document along with other information including the number of pages, characters, paragraphs and lines.

Note that you can also use the word count to get information about any selection of words. So if you want to know the word count of a paragraph, for example, highlight the text and follow the instructions above. Word will limit its word count data just to the paragraph you selected.
