What Version of Office 2010 includes Access 2010? How do I get Access 2010?

Q: What Version of Office 2010 includes Access 2010? How do I get Access 2010?

A:  Microsoft has simplified their Office 2010 versioning and unfortunately Access 2010 is only available in the Office Professional edition which Microsoft has as a retail price for $499.99.    Also complicating the matter is the fact that Microsoft has done away with upgrading in office 2010.  So users of Office 2003, 2007, cannot purchase an upgrade version — everyone must purchase a full version.

You can see a full grid of the Office suites here:  http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/office-2010-which-suite-is-right-for-you-FX101825640.aspx

If you must have Access you can purchase it separately but sometimes the cost of separate Office programs is so high that you may be better off purchasing the full version instead.

You may also find it less expensive to purchase Office from retails such as Amazon.com.
